Last couple days have been quite interesting. From random 'grand papis' telling me about their 'little princesses' to eating falafel in Cosmo, my week has been ....well, refreshing, at the least.
When i have little to do, i find myself being amused by the most mundane things... i find myself thinking about things i would normally write off as unnecessary wastes of brain power lol...but that's silly isn't it? It is. A friend of mine, yea...that's what we'll call him, told me of how he loves umbrellas. Said amigo told me of how umbrellas are the perfect accessory... he also said something about how his fancy umbrella was an extension of his *member* lol.. didn't sound douche-baggy when he said it though...he actually managed to convince me the above statement was not completely ridiculous. Anyway, he was talking about how if people failed to take pleasure in the little things of life, like extraordinary umbrellas, they would surely miss out. That is, people need not waste their time waiting for spectacular things to happen or neglecting to appreciate the simple things of life, but rather, it would be who of them to put a lil bit of effort to turn just another rainy day in chi city to a rather heart-warming experience.
After asking him why he'd think to spend a pretty penny on an umbrella instead of settling for a normal 14.99$ get up, he retorted with something like 'when you're walking on the quad on a rainy day, don't you notice those with exceptionally nice umbrellas and admire them?' I couldn't deny that when i see a woman sporting a vintage umbrella resembling those of the Victorian age, or a guy with a suave and sturdy black umbrella with the real thin hooked handle, i can't help but want to find myself a nice lil fix of the sort. When people are fighting off the wind with their bent-out-of-shape shields, i suppose a rainy day could be viewed as too much of a hassle. Instead, he proposed that by investing in a nice umbrella, one can turn an unnecessarily boring and exhausting experience to one in which one simply experiences the beauty of a torrential down pour under a nice crisp umbrella that'd turn the descending and relentless rain drops into a melodious bo
nus to a beautiful view. he had a point. On another, and equally delightful (but a bit more pleasurable) note, after a long day of *crash* and *angels and demons* and peaches, i had an extended conversation with a dear friend. Said friend and i talked until our hearts' content and even then, though we conversed no longer, our hearts gleamed with the remnants of our enchanting discourse. I believe such late night chats are well worth the wee hours of sleep succeeding them. Why sleep earlier in hopes of a fantasy of a dream, when one can be awake and experience a similar bliss?... i digress, for if i continued, i fear i would reveal myself in a such a way i am not prepared to do so publicly .
